Cave of cards
This is a game jam submission by a group of 3 people for the GamePop 2025 gamejam. The theme is Lets go Gambling! Which made me think of the treasure dungeons in FF14, so we decided to create a arena wave shooter where after you finish a wave a card mini game would appear where you would use the circle infront of the two cards to guess if the card on the left is lesser or greater than the card on the right, if your guess was correct it would give you an advantage for the next wave, if you failed, it would make the wave harder.
Controls:
Primary mouse: Fire
Movement: wasd, Space jump
Advance to next level: [2]
Bunny hopping makes you go zooooooom.
Gambling mechanic is current not fully implemented, so advancing for further stages is bound to a button.
If you think the card on the right is greater than the one on the left, you would go into the circle to change it to an up arrow. If you think the card on the right will be a lower, than select a down arrow.
The card game will disappear 10 seconds after its finished.
Our group consisted of an architect, 2nd year software developer and 1st year game programmer. Everyone was quite new to using unity.
Since we had limited experience we used premade assests and focused on building something with those assests, we used assests from:
loafbrr MinesAndCaveSet on the unity store
Kenney - for the circle on the ground and used assest forge to create the cards
Kitkays skeleton pack on itch.io
Tallbeard - background sound
sfxr - sfx
JDSherbert - UI SFX pack
We are submitting for the edmonton prize pool.
